WHO I AM
I am Matthew North, a sole trader based in London, UK. I provide general management, company management and production management for theatre and live events, and I run Pairings by Matt North, which hosts cheese and wine tastings at workplaces. I am the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. You can contact me at contact@matthewnorth.co.uk.
WHAT I COLLECT
If you contact me by email: your name, your email address and anything else you choose to include in your message.
If you send a tasting enquiry through the form on the Tastings page: your name and email address; your phone number and company, if you give them; the type of event, number of guests, preferred date and start time; your workplace address or area; your choices of tasting, pairings and glasses; any dietary requirements or allergies you tell me about; and anything else you add in the message box.
Dietary requirements and allergies can be health information, which the law treats as special category data. Please only tell me what I need to plan safe food and drink for your group, and describe the need rather than naming guests (for example, “one guest has a nut allergy”).
When you visit this website: the site's host, Wix, automatically collects technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages you visit, using cookies and similar technologies. See the Cookie Notice for details.
HOW I USE IT
I use your information to reply to enquiries, quote for and plan tastings and other work, make sure the cheese, drinks and accompaniments are suitable and safe for your guests, keep this website secure and working properly, and meet my legal obligations. I do not sell your information or use it for marketing lists.
LEGAL BASIS
I rely on my legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running and securing this website; on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract; and on compliance with legal obligations. For dietary and allergy information, I rely on your explicit consent, which you give by including it in your enquiry. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing me, and I will delete it.
WHO I SHARE IT WITH
I share information only with service providers who help me run this website and my email, including Wix (website hosting, and storage of form submissions in Wix Forms and Contacts), and with authorities where the law requires it. If a tasting goes ahead, I share dietary and allergy details with the people preparing the food and drink and with the host running the tasting, for that event only. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place.
HOW LONG I KEEP IT
I keep enquiry emails and form submissions, including any dietary and allergy details, for 12 months after our last contact, and then delete them. If we work together, I keep invoices and related business records for as long as tax rules require.
YOUR RIGHTS
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how I use it, and ask for a copy in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email contact@matthewnorth.co.uk and I will respond within one month.
COMPLAINTS
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please contact me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
CHANGES
I may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
